Previously, ITC developed and taught a systems engineering (model based) course through the Continuing Education Program at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Coursed included introduction to model based systems engineering, focused on systems engineering use of models; embedding the models in model-oriented information technology. Similar to the shift to 3D models from 2D drawings, a computer tool aided vs document-based SE approach allows for greater discipline and integration, facilitates analysis an collaboration, and can improve both decision making and SE outcomes.
